July 4th Fun and Fireworks
New York City is one of the best places to be in the country when it comes to celebrating July 4. And, our home borough of Queens will be one of the optimum places to experience the 2015 Macy’s fireworks celebration.
This year, the Macy’s fireworks will launch from two points on the East River – in midtown and within the South Street Seaport area. Four barges will be positioned in midtown (between 23rd and 37th streets) and one below the Brooklyn Bridge. From the Long Island City waterfront, you’ll be able to view the midtown barges (our location in Long Island City translates to “super convenience” for this holiday). Get ready for the sky to light up with colorful displays (from approximately 9:20 pm) to commemorate the United States’ birthday. Read more about the location of the fireworks here.
Interested in having barbecue with some festive sparkling brilliance? A southern-style July 4 cookout atop the Brooklyn Grange farm at the Brooklyn Navy Yard is followed by Macy’s fireworks viewing and then a dance party.
You can also head to Jones Beach, which will feature a fireworks show for the first time in five years. The 30-minute show (starting at 9:30 pm) is sure to dazzle whether you are viewing from land or water.
