Love Is In The NYC Air
As we all know, February heralds romance more than probably any other month of the year. And, choosing how to celebrate can be challenging when there are countless way of doing so in a city as vibrant and full of love and life as New York City.
Some opt for the traditional celebratory route with iconic “only in New York” occasions– an enchanting horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park, or heading to the top of the Empire State Building for mesmerizing views of New York City.
Food, food, food – a yummy dinner shared with the one who holds your heart close is a delightful way to spend Valentine’s Day. Of course, there are an abundance of dinner and dance cruises you can book for that memorable evening. And, if you’re seeking that perfect meal, check out OpenTable, which lists restaurants in NYC featuring special Valentine’s Day menus.
For a slightly different and more interactive spin when it comes to the treats you can savor, consider the Cupcakes and Cocktails class on Feb. 14 at the Institute of Culinary Education. The Mudslide and The Margarita are just two samples from the decadent menu.
If a movie is more your and your partner’s style, snuggle on the couch and watch a romantic classic at home – or purchase tickets for Fifty Shades of Grey, which opens Feb. 13 and will no doubt make a huge splash on the big screen throughout the boroughs.
For outdoor pursuits in the heart of the winter, lace up and go ice skating at Rockefeller Center or at the Bryant Park Winter Village – an enjoyable way to spend time together, gliding hand in hand (or helping each other stand up!).
Love and romance can be scary, right? Not for the faint of heart is the Bloody Valentine’s Weekend extravaganza at the haunted attraction of Blood Manor.
For your own “shooting stars,” experience a celestial-filled night accented by champagne and music with Romance Under the Stars at the Hayden Planetarium.
We shouldn’t just celebrate romance in February, though. Consider a romantic overnight or weekend away with your special someone and stay with us any time of year.
