If ramen makes you think of the cheap packets of supermarket noodles, then that just means you haven’t checked out Mu Ramen yet. Located less than a mile and a half from our Long Island City hotel, Mu Ramen is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, considered a hidden gem that’s hiding some of the best ramen in New York City. If the tender noodles, spicy cabbage and oxtail broth aren’t enough to win you over, you can expand to their non-ramen menu items, like the tebasaki gyoza, a deboned chicken wing stuffed with foie gras, soft brioche and quince compote. It’s the farthest thing from store-bought ramen, and it’s just a short walk from the Holiday Inn Manhattan View.
