These Fins Were Made For Walking

On June 20th, Coney Island is being taken over by denizens of the deep for the 33rd annual Mermaid Parade. The largest art parade in the country, the celebration draws close to half-million people and showcases over 3,000 creative individuals and their artistic pride in their nautical-themed neighborhood. With a King and Queen Neptune leading the parade, visitors can watch the procession of floats, colorful underwater-themed costumes and classic cars, and can even sign up to judge the best floats in the parade. There will also be food vendors selling Coney Island classics, and various booths to buy exclusive Mermaid Parade merchandise and t-shirts. So come meet a mermaid or two at this beloved Coney Island event before heading back to your room at the Holiday Inn Manhattan View where you're always treated like the king and queen of the sea.
